Potter - Head Men's Ice Hockey Coach

Chris Potter, a 1993 graduate of the University of
Connecticut, will be in his sixth year of duty as head men's ice hockey and
golf coach at Wesleyan in 2008-09 after serving in that capacity on an interim basis in
2003-04. He is a full-time faculty member with the rank of adjunct
associate professor.
An assistant ice hockey coach and recruiting
coordinator at Brown University from 1998 through 2003, Chris was a four-year ice
hockey letterman, an All-American as a senior and a two-time all-ECAC and all-New England selection
at UConn. He began
his coaching career as an assistant at his alma mater from 1996-1998. For
three years following his graduation, Chris was a member of the Roanoke
Express in the Southern Division of the East Coast Hockey League. Roanoke
was affiliated with the San Jose Sharks of the NHL during Chris'
playing days.
From 1997 to the present, Chris has been involved
with USA Hockey-Team New England as an instructor, assistant coach and in
2001 and 2002, as a head coach.
Chris earned his Master's degree in education from
UConn in 2003. In his opening five years as Wesleyan's mentor, Chris has
twice been named NESCAC Men's Ice Hockey Coach of the Year, receiving the
honor in both 2003-04 and again in 2006-07. Wesleyan earned its
first winning conference mark in 2006-07 (9-6-4) while gaining its
first-ever NESCAC tournament home game.
Jim Langlois -
Assistant Coach
Jim Langlois is in his 25th
year as an assistant men's ice hockey coach at Wesleyan.
A 1968 graduate of St. Lawrence where he lettered in ice hockey, Jim coached Wesleyan's
women's ice hockey team from 1980-84 before
joining the men's ranks in 1985. Jim also has
coached in the Middlesex Youth Hockey program and
at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Conn.
Scott McDougall -
Assistant Coach

Now in his second season after joining the Wesleyan coaching
staff as a full-time assistant in 2007-08, Scott McDougall is
a 2007 graduate of the University of Connecticut. There he was
a four-year member of the men's ice hockey team. From his
forward spot, Scott registered 22 goals and 21 assists for 43 career
points while playing in 89 contests. Active as a camp and club
team counselor, instructor and coach over the last six years, Scott
has experience with the Massachusetts Player Development Camp,
handling 13-15 year olds ; the Connecticut Hockey Experience with
13-18 year-old players ; the Elite Summer Skills Program in charge
of 10-13 year olds ; the Neponset Valley River Rats for high-school
aged players ; and the South Shore Junior Kings in Massachusetts. In addition to his coaching duties
at Wesleyan,
Scott will have responsibilities with the athletic department's
concession stand operation.
Jim Panczykowski -
Assistant Coach
Jim Panczykowski, a 2004 Wesleyan graduate and four-year goaltender
for the men's ice hockey squad, is aiding the Cardinal coaches this
year. With 68 career starts at Wesleyan, Jim collected a
Wesleyan record 2,189 saves with a 3.41 goals-against average and a
.910 save percentage. He was named second-team all-NESCAC and
a New England Hockey Writers Division III all-star, as well as being
selected to play in the ECAC Division III East-West senior all-star
game in 2004. He also received the Joe Concannon Award as the top Division III
American-born ice hockey player in New England as a senior. Jim had a
brief pro career with a minor league ice hockey squad in New Haven
following graduation. Jim currently is vice-president of
Northeast Operations (Connecticut and New York) for Binswanger, an
industrial real estate firm.
