Emmett McConnell '15 Posts 3rd Shutout of Season, 10th of Career as Men's Soccer Ties Wheaton, 0-0

Making four saves over 110 minutes in net, and aided by a valuable team save from Ben Bratt '15, Emmett McConnell '15 (#30, photo) picked up his third shutout in four starts this year while pushing his current streak of scoreless minutes to 257:36 in a 0-0 overtime deadlock at Wheaton Sat., Sept. 13. Wheaton entered the game ranked 30th in Division III in the latest NSCAA poll and 21st in the d3soccer.com poll. Wesleyan is ranked fifth in the most recent NSCAA New England poll. Wheaton is fourth. McConnell's most prominent save came in the game's 65th minute as he made a diving stop on a ball destined for the lower right corner. Less than a minute later, Bratt came up with his defensive save to keep the game scoreless.
