Wesleyan Scoring Drought Continues as Cardinals Bow to Undefeated Middlebury
The Cardinals' men soccer woes extended to another tough NESCAC matchup as undefeated and unscored upon Middlebury handed Wesleyan a 2-0 defeat Sat., Sept. 22 in Middletown. Wesleyan's best chance to score came in the first half when Wesleyan was awarded a penalty shot but Justin Mello '08 (#2, photo courtesy of SteveMcLaughlinPhotography.com) was outguessed by the Middlebury netminder who dove to his right an made the save to preserve the shutout. The Panthers connected for one goal in each half in posting the triumph. Wesleyan is right back on the pitch Sun., Sept. 23, taking on Western New England in Springfield, Mass during a non-conference battle.
