It took nearly 62 minutes of play for Wesleyan to break the ice during its NESCAC matchup vs. Tufts Wed., Oct. 10, but Ozzie Parente '09 (#10, photo by SteveMcLaughlinPhotography.com) scored a pretty goal off a centering pass by Mark Murphy '10, leading the Cardinals to a 2-0 victory. It was the team's sixth straight win and fourth by shutout this season. Alan Ashenfelter '09 passed ghe lead in the 71st minute as Matt Nevin '09 hit him with a through pass and a couple of dribbles later, the Cards had their second goal. It tied Ashenfelter for the team lead with three goals. Matt Gnall '08 posted three saves and got help from defender Asante Brooks '10, who had two stops himself of balls labeled for the net. The squad closes out its regular-season home schedule Sat., Oct. 13, hosting Bates in another NESCAC contest.
