Men's Tennis Adds Another Solid Win to Its Credit, 9-0 vs. Brandeis, without Dropping a Set - Rises to 18th in Rankings, but Falls to #8 Bowdoin & #26 Bates

Facing Brandeis, sitting #33 in the March 12 ITA national Division III rankings, the Cardinals rolled to a solid win against a team ranked just ahead of them as Wesleyan holds down the 34th spot in the rankings. Just 2-5 all-time vs. Brandeis heading into the match, but victorious over the Judges, 5-4, the last time they met in 2008, Wesleyan made short work of the afternoon with a 9-0 decision this time. Wesleyan went 12-0 in sets over the six singles matches and dropped just eight games in doubles. Winning at #1 singles and doubles was Michael Liu '17 (left side photo) as he took a 6-4, 6-3 single triumph and paired with Zacho Brint '16 for an 8-5 doubles conquering. At #2 singles and doubles, Jake Roberts '17 (right side photo) did much the same, though in a bit more convincing fashion with a 6-0, 6-3 win in singles and an 8-2 doubles conquest, teamed with Greg Lyon '17.
