Stephen Monk '15 is One of Two Cardinals to Close out Fall Season with Pair of Wins in 9-0 Blanking of SRU

Wesleyan closed out its fall campaign with a 9-0 blanking of Salve Regina Thurs., Oct. 6, to rack up a 5-1 mark over its six dual matches. During the fall, the Cardinal collectively came through with a 26-10 singles record and a 14-4 doubles posting. Eight of the 14 losses came during one match, that against NESCAC and national power Williams. Stephen Monk '15 (photo) picked up victories in both singles and doubles play against Salve, logging a 6-0, 6-0 win at #3 singles and teaming with Ben Hudson '15 for a hard-fought 9-7 #1 doubles win. As a result, Monk had the strongest mark on the team during the fall with a 5-1 singles record and a perfect 5-0 doubles mark. Also coming up with a clean sweep of his Salve rival was #4 singles Alex Hirsch '13 and #6 singles Donald Kleckner.
