Cards Enjoy Five First-Place Finishes During Lone Home Meet, the Elmer Swanson Invitational
Mike Moody '10 (photo insert lower left) was a double-winner for the Cardinals during the annual Elmer Swanson Invitational in Middletown Sat., April 10, accounting for 40 percent of Wesleyan's top honors during the meet.
Moody was first in both the hammer (159-10) and the javelin (182-0) as Wesleyan's only winner in field events. The Cardinals copped top honors in three running events as Jack Pacelle '13 (photo insert upper right) came in ahead of the pack in the 400m (:50.38), Chris Coleman '10 (photo insert upper left) led a dominating contingent of runners for Wesleyan in the 800m (1:56.87) and Matt Katz '11 (photo insert lower right) did the same in the 3000m (8:50.88).
In total, Wesleyan had 16 top-five finishes in individual events in the non-scoring meet.
Wesleyan returns to scoring mode for its next meet, the annual Little Three competition, this season hosted by Williams Sat., April 17.
