Bryan Marsh '13 Becomes First Cardinal All-American in Men's Cross Country in Six Years

Covering the 8k course in Winneconne, Wisc. in a time of 24:47.02, Bryan Marsh '13 captured 35th place to claim All-America honors in his second trip to the NCAA Division III Championship. A year ago, he finished 106th. Running at the Lake Breeze Golf Club, Marsh took the final spot for All-America laurels as the top 35 finishers are deemed All-America. He was fifth among New England runners at Nationals, a solid improvement from a week earlier when he took all-New England honors by placing 11th in the regional qualifying meet. Only two of the 279 participants at Nationals broke the 24-minute mark. Marsh was just 10 seconds behind the 20th-place finisher and secured All-America by nipping the 36th-place finisher by .29 seconds. The last Wesleyan male to come home with All-America honors in cross country was Owen Kiely '06 as he finished 12th during the 2005 championship.
