Bryan Marsh '13 Repeats as XC All-American as He & Skyler Cummins '13 Had Secured All-N.E. Div. III Honors
Covering the 8k course in a solid time of 25:01.41 during the New England Division III Championship hosted by Westfield St. Sat., Nov. 10, Bryan Marsh '13 (right side photo) placed seventh of 351 entrants to earn all-New England Division III honors for the third year on a row. A year ago, Marsh placed 11th regionally and qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship for the second time. There he took 35th place to secure All-America honors. Both Marsh and Skyler Cummins '13 (left side photo), who took 10th place in the region with a time of 25:07.93 for all-N.E recognition, represented Wesleyan at Nationals as individual qualifiers. Marsh was just 10 seconds off the winning time in the region. At the NCAAs in Terre Haute, Ind. Sat., Nov. 17, Marsh covered the 8k course in 24:50.4 to place 16th of 276 entrants. He was 24 seconds off the winning pace of Tim Nelson from Wisc.-Stout. The top 35 runners are deemed All-Americans, giving Marsh his second straight honor. Cummins was timed in 25:46.2, placing him 103rd in his first trip to Nationals. Bates was the top team finisher from New England, grabbing sixth. Tufts was right behind in seventh. Marsh was the fourth finisher from a New England college at the NCAAs.
