bags fly free     More than 100 Wesleyan fall sports athletes donned red t-shirts designed by an athletic department committee with "Bags Fly Free" as the message on the back as helpers for the Class of 2014 move-in day Wednesday, Sept. 1.  Along with the slogan is a muscular cardinal likeness reminiscent of Foghorn Leghorn of Looney Tunes fame toting a couple of suitcases.  Assisting with the arrival of some 700 new students in the class of 2014, athletes in the sports of football, soccer, field hockey, cross country and volleyball lent a valuable hand as the newcomers entered their Wesleyan domiciles for the first time.  Main living quarters for Wesleyan freshmen include Foss Hill, Fauver, Clark and Butterfield dorm areas.  Wesleyan athletic teams took two-hour shifts in carting newcomer's belongings to their new homes.  To see a smattering of photos showing some athletics team members in action, please click here.
