In a five-team gathering in Middletown Sat., Dec. 4, to inaugurate the 2010-11 indoor season, Wesleyan came through with four first-place finishes to highlight the Cardinals' efforts. Individual top performances came from Ernest Wingate '14 (main photo) in the 55m hurdles (:08.04), Paulie Lowther '13 (photo insert upper left) in the 55m dash (:06.69) and Jack Pacelle '13 (photo insert upper middle) in the 400m dash (:51.75). These three also combined to give Wesleyan a first-place showing in the 4x400m relay, joined by Tommie Lark '12. Wingate also had a second-place performance in the 55m dash, just .06 seconds behind Lowther. He came in second in the event, also a scant .06 seconds behind the winner.
The next action for the squad came up Sat., Jan. 8 when a contingent of Cardinals traveled to Army to compete in the Crowell Open. There, Wesleyan had two top-eight placings as Lowther grabbed eight in the 60m (:07.28) and Pacelle finished eight in the 200m (:23.52). Thirteen teems were represented at the meet.
