Back in the water for competition after more than a month's hiatus, the Cardinals put their traiing in Florida recently to use in a tough three-way meet at Williams with Tufts also in attendance. Wesleyan fell to both its NESCAC rivals as the Ephs prevailed, 228-59, while the Jumbos were victorious by a 224-63 count.
Momo Saleh '12 (top photo) came in third in the 500 free with a time of 5:01.05. Martin Kafina '13 (bottom photo) was another third-place finisher for the Cardinals, covering the 100 butterfly in :55.23.
Wesleyan was on the road to Conn. College Sat., Jan. 22 for its next action. There the Camels planted a 163-96 loss on the Cardinals. Top swims by Wesleyan came from Wes Fantini '13 as he captured the 200 breast (2:19.56) to spur a Cardinal sweep of the event. Saleh was the winner of the 200 IM (2:04.30) while Darren Thomason '12 secured top honors in the 100 breast (1:02.97).
Wesleyan travels to Colby to take on both the host and Bowdoin in the team's third straight NESCAC road meet this semester.
