Wesleyan Squash Visits Tournament of Champion Courts at Grand Central Terminal for Action with Peter Nicol Sat., Jan. 22, 2011
Thanks to the Urban Squash Program auction purchase of assistant coach Erik Golden and subsequent arrangements by head squash coach Shona Kerr, the members of the Wesleyan men's and women's squash teams [seen in photo with Coach Kerr (kneeling far right), Coach Golden (kneeling far left) and Peter Nicol (standing with racquet, middle)] had an opportunity to visit the JP Morgan Tournament of Champion squash courts at Grand Central Terminal in New York City Sat., Jan. 22. While there, numerous members of the Cardinal squad had the chance to go on court and hit with Peter Nicol, a former World #1 player, earning that distinction for a total of five years including a string of 24 straight months at #1 from 2002 to 2003.
The team, along with many Wesleyan squash alums and family members of current players, also had occasion to witness some professional competition.
