Six First-Place Finishes Highlight Wesleyan Invitational II for Cardinals in Preparation for 20-Team Meet Jan. 22

Competing against Mt. St. Mary's, Manhattanville and York (NY) in a tune-up for a large 20-team affair to be hosted by Wesleyan Sat., Jan. 22, the Cardinals produced six first-place finishes at home Sat., Jan. 15.  Kathryn Kulowski '11 (photo insert upper right) captured top honors in both the high jump (5-1) and long jump (14-10 1/4) as the team's lone double-winner.  Julia Frieze '12 (photo insert lower right) grabbed first in the 400m (1:04.81) and also nabbed third in the 200m (:29.20).  Lia Monti '13 (main photo) showed her versatility by winning the shot put (34-4 1/4) while placing second in both the 55m and 200m.  Wesleyan's other top prizes came from 55m hurdler Isabel Stern '14 (:09.32) and weight thrower Ashley Swan '13 (35-7).

Expected to participate in the upcoming invitational at Wesleyan Jan. 22 are NESCAC rivals Amherst, Conn. Colege and Trinity.
