Picking up three teams points to tie for 20th among 23 scoring teams during the annual New England Division III meet, hosted this season by MIT Fri.-Sat., Feb. 18-19, Wesleyan had a pair of top-eight finishes en route to its scoring. Williams won the competition with 141 points with host MIT right behind in second with 137.
Kathryn Kulowski '11 (photo by SteveMcLaughlinPhotography.com) was the only Cardinal individual to pick up points as she cleared 5-0 1/4 in the high jump to capture eighth place. Accounting for Wesleyan's remaining two team points was the distance medley relay squad of Jess Levin '11, Ceili Brennan '13, Nicole Lepre '13 and Julia Mark '13 as they placed seventh with a time of 12:48.56.
Ahead for the squad was a trip to Boston U. Fri.-Sat., Feb. 25-26 for the New England Open meet, however, no Cardinals were entered in the meet. Thus, the next action for the team came up Fri.-Sat., March 4-5 in the ECAC Div. III meet in New York City. There, Sierra Livious '14 toosed the shot 37-3 3/4, her best effort of the year, but not quite good enough to pick up team scoring points. Libby Lazare '14 had her best 5k time of the season with 18:35.54, but it, too, was shy of securing team points. The ECAC meet brought the women's indoor season to a close.
The squad hopes to inaugurate the outdoor season at home Sat., March 19, hosting the Spring Break Invitational.
