Wesleyan Wrestling Celebrates Banner Season in 2010-11 Highlighted by 16-3-1 Record & NEWA Duals Title

Wesleyan celebrated a banner wrestling campaign in 2010-11, with a 16-3-1 dual-match record, a NEWA Duals Championship and a third-place finish in the NEWA Tournament, highlighted by seven place-winners including individual champion Kyle Roosa '13 at 174 pounds (photo right side) and runner-up efforts by Chris Alvanos '11 at 125 pounds (photo upper left) and Jefferson Ajayi '13 at 184 pounds (photo lower left).  Click on "View Full Story" to see a synopsis of the accomplishments of the 2010-11 wrestling Cardinals ----

2010-11 Team Achievements:
• 16-3-1 Dual Season Record (second most wins in Wesleyan wrestling history since 1934 - 2001-02 team went 17-2)
• 11 consecutive dual meet victories - most in Wesleyan history (1982-83 & 2001-02 teams posted eight consecutive victories)
• Third place of 14 at the New England Wrestling Association Championships (second consecutive year)
• 120-79-3 the past 11 seasons (2010 11-7, 2009-9-6-1; 2008-8-8; 2007- 11-7-1; 2005-10-5)
• Finished the season nationally ranked #29 in NCAA Division III Wrestling
• Nationally ranked throughout season as a team (#26 - #29)
• 1 NCAA Qualifier - 174-pounder Kyle Roosa '13 (28-9), NEWA Champion
• 7 All-New England Wrestlers: (3 Finalists)

• 4th in the Nation “Scholar All-American Wrestling Team” - 3.505 GPA
