Pete Taylor '12 Earns All-New England Honors for 2nd Time, AJ Ferraro '12 Has Solid Outing as Well - Team Opens Spring Play in Florida

Rallying for a one-over-par 73 on the second day of the annual NEIGA tournament Tues., Oct. 18, Pete Taylor '12 (main photo) carded a 78-73-151 total and placed in a tie for 11th overall and fourth among Division III players.  By virtue of his top-six placing in Division III, Taylor earned all-New England Division III honors for the second time in his career.  In 2008, Taylor finished sixth in Division III during the NEIGA outing.  With the fall campaign concluded, Taylor enjoyed another splendid season with nine of his 10 rounds in the 70s and a stroke average of 75.1.

Joining Taylor with a strong outing at the NEIGA was AJ Ferraro '12 (photo insert upper left), who came through with a 75-79-154 score, tying him for 23rd overall and 10th in Division III.  As a team, Wesleyan had a 664 team score, good for 28th place among 34 competing teams.  Rounding out the Cardinals' scoring was Ryan Marvick '14 with an 85-88-173 and Mike DeLalio '15 with an 87-99-186.

The Cardinals returned to the links Sat., March 24 during their annual training mission to Florida.  Competing on a PGA Village course alongside Williams, which was competing in the Sunshine Invitational at the same time, Wesleyan got a 75 from Taylor, right on his seasonal average, and a 79 from Ferraro to pace the team to a 324 score.  Williams took the match with a 309 total.

Wesleyan will see Williams again in its next match, the Little Three Championship at home Wed., April 18, with Amherst, of course, in attendance as well.
