Four First-Place Performances Highlight Cardinals' Efforts during Wesleyan Invitational I Meet to Open 2011-12 Indoor Season

Alex Iwamoto '12 (left side photo) and Luca Ameri '15 (right side photo) were two of Wesleyan's four first-place finishers during the inaugural meet of the 2011-12 indoor track season, the Wesleyan Invitatonal I Sat., Dec. 3.  Iwamoto captured the 200m race in :24.53 while Ameri grabbed top honors in the 400m event, timed in :52.91.

Wesleyan's other first-place efforts came from Tal Leveran '15 in the 600m race (1:28.66) and Stephan Jordan '14 in the weight throw (33-7 1/4).  Wesleyan had entries in just seven of the 15 events sponsored during the meet.  Four teams competed in the meet with CCRI, Mt. St. Mary's and Medgar Evers joining Wesleyan in the non-scoring affair.

Up next for the squad is a visit to New York City Sat., Jan. 13 for the Gotham Cup at the Armory.
