Brendan Fortin '13 (photo upper left) and Nick Huston '13 (photo lower right) each captured three events while Huston also was part of the Cardinals' victorious 200 medley relay as Wesleyan defeated Trinity, 175-112, Fri., Dec. 9. It was the Cardinals' 30th straight win over its in-state NESCAC rival as Wesleyan has knocked off the Bantams each season since 1982.
Fortin took top honors in the 200 fly, 500 free and 1000 free while Huston came through win victories in the 100 and 200 back as well as the 200 individual medley. In total, Wesleyan won 11 of 14 swimming events as Erik Yan '15 placed first i the 100 fly, Wes Fantini '13 was ahead of the field in the 50 free and Momo Saleh '12 raced home in the 200 breast. Yan and Fantini also were part of the Cardinals' winning 200 medley and 200 free relays.
Wesleyan resumed meet action Sat., Jan. 14 when the Cardinals hosted Tufts and Williams in a three-team NESCAC affair. Williams came away with a 236-52 win while Tufts prevailed 212-69. Fortin had the best efforts for the Cardinals as he was the overall winner of the 200 fly while defeating his Tufts counterparts in the 400 IM.
