Brendan Fortin '13 (bottom photo) bested the field in the 400 IM while Momo Saleh '12 (top photo) was victorious in the 200 breaststroke to pace the Cardinals' efforts during the annual Cardinal Invitational Sat.-Sun., Dec. 3-4. As a team, Wesleyan placed third with 759 points, behind runaway winner WPI (1281.5 points) and Hamilton (885 points). Wesleyan outscored both Trinity and Clark. Trinity is Wesleyan's final dual-meet opponent of the first semester as the NESCAC rivals will clash again Fri., Dec. 9 in Hartford.
Also standing out for the Cardinals during the Invitational was Erik Yan '15, as he picked up second-place points in both the 50 and 100 fly. Third-place performances were turned in by Fortin in both the 200 IM and the 200 fly while Saleh was third in the 100 breast, and Yan was third in the 50 free. Martin Kafina '13 also logged a third-place performance, that in the 100 fly.
