Winning 11 of 14 swimming events during their meet at Trinity Fri., Dec. 9, the Cardinals secured a 177-107 triumph over the Bantams. It was Wesleyan's ninth consecutive conquering of its in-state NESCAC rival.
Leading the way for the Cardinals were Angela Slevin '15 (photo lower right) and Bailey Muchin '15 (photo upper left) as each took two individual events and helped a relay capture a title. Slevin won both the 100 and 200 back and supported the winning effort of the 200 medley relay. Muchin bettered the field in both the 500 and 1000 free and was part of the victorious 200 free relay squad.
Other Wesleyan winners included Alexa Burzinski '15 in the 200 free ; Rachel Hirsch '15 in the 100 breast ; Julia Fram '12 in the 200 fly ; Roxy Capron '14 in the 200 breast ; and Amanda Distler '15 in the 100 fly. Distler and Burzinski were among the Cardinal contingent in the first-place 200 free relay while Hirsch was in the quartet of winners in the 200 medley relay.
Next up for the squad will be a three-way NESCAC meet at home Sat., Jan. 14 with visitors Tufts and Williams.
