Wes Women's Lax to Host 7v7 High-School Aged Tourney/Clinic March 3, One Week Before Opening 2012 Season vs. Williams

Led by the senior crew of team quad-captains Liz Chabot '12 (#4, photo lower left), Maggie Drowica '12 (#13, photo upper right), Alexa Narzikul '12 (#11, photo lower right) and Claire O'Brien '12 (#5, photo upper left), along with Barrie Lindsay '12, the Wesleyan women's lacrosse team will embark upon a challenging 15-game schedule for 2012, beginning with a home game vs. Little Three rival Williams Sat., March 10.  That will be the first of 10 NESCAC contests for the year as the NESCAC is the premier Division III women's lacrosse conference in the country.  A year ago, five conference teams qualified for the NCAA Division III tournament, and Hamilton has been added to the round-robin schedule this season, giving the NESCAC a sixth national qualifier.  Three league squads reached the Elite Eight and Bowdoin ended up national runner-up. In the preseason IWLCA poll of Feb. 2, eight NESCAC squads were ranked among the top-20 with five of them in the top-10.

A week before the 2012 season gets underway, the Cardinals will host a 7v7 high-school aged tournament and clinic on its home venue, Smith Field, Sat., March 3.  Details about the tournament/clinic for students in grades 9-12 are available by clicking < here >.
