Approximately 100 student from the Woodside Intermediate School in Cromwell came to Wesleyan for recess Wednesday, April 4, 2012. It was the second year in a row for the event, the brainchild of Wesleyan assistant football coach Jeff McDonald and Woodside principal Bo Ryan. McDonald and Ryan met during the 1990s during their college days and recently found an opportunuity for Wesleyan and Woodside to interact on a number of levels. Student-athletes from Wesleyan's football team have spent lots of time at Woodside over the last two years to act as role models and speak to the student there on a variety of topics, including such concerns as sportsmanship.
