Holy Cross won in a time of 21:06, WPI was second in 21:20. "It was clear that the crew was a bit disappointed with the result but it's also clear that we've got a lot of speed to tap into", said Head Coach Pat Tynan. The 2nd Varsity 8 was 6th in the same race, beating all of the other second 8s and many 1st varsity 8s. "These guys are pushing the varsity everyday and are being pushed by the third varsity. They performed well."
The novice 4 won its event in a time of 25:16, over one minute ahead of second-place Simmons. "They drove hard down the course and started their Wesleyan rowing careers on a good note.", said Coach Tynan. "I'm looking forward to the next four years with them." The novice 8 finished second behind Tufts. "This was the first time this crew had rowed in this combination so the result is a good one. Almost all of the freshmen who raced today walked away with a medal", said Coach Tynan. The Open 4 finished fifth of 16 crews. "This was a solid effort from this crew and gave them some confidence finishing in the top pack of boats."
