Cardinals Defeat Boston College & Wellesley, Fall to Highly Ranked Brown & Middlebury on Opening Weekend

Wesleyan, ranked 18th in the preseason, made short work of matches against Boston College and Wellesley during the Boston Round Robin Sat.-Sun., Nov. 17-18, with victories of 9-0 and 8-1, respectively.  As expected, the Cardinals had their hands full when facing #11 Middlebury and #9 Brown, dropping both matches by 9-0 counts.

Wesleyan returns to action in its own round robin over the weekend of Sat.-Sun., Dec. 1-2, with five matches against a tighly bunched groupp of opponents.  The first day features Tufts, Wellesley and Smith, followed by William Smith and Vassar on the second day.  These five teams are all ranked between #22 and #27.

In Boston, Annie Maxwell '15 (photo) occupied the #1 spot and like the majority of Cardinals, equaled the team's record with a 2-2 posting.  Lauren Nelson '15 handled duties at #2 with team co-captains Grace Zimmerman '13 and Danielle Craig '13 covering #3 and #4, respectively.  All were 2-2 over the weekend.
