Competing at the Coast Guard Invitational Sat., March 30, Wesleyan had nine place-taking efforts led by the first-place finishes of Paulie Lowther '13 (main photo) in the 200m dash and Skyler Cummins '13 (photo insert lower right) in the 1500m race. Lowther's time of :22.502 nosed out the second-place finisher by .007 seconds in a field of 55 entries. Cummins edged classmate Bryan Marsh '13 by 3.8 seconds with his winning tie of 3:59.54 as Wesleyan accounted for 18 of its 63 teams points from that event. As a team, the Cardinals placed sixth of 11 squads at the meet.
Wesleyan's remaining points came from the third- and fourth-place performances of Sam Roth '13 and Austin Cotant '13, respectively, in the 800m race; the second-place throw of Agbon Edomwonyi '16 in the shot put; the second-place vault of Will Sawyer '16 in the pole vault; the third-place leap of Alex Rowland '16 in the long jump; and the seventh-place clocking of Jack Pacelle '13 in the 100m dash.
Ahead for the squad is a visit to AIC Sat., April 6 for the Yellow Jacket Invitational.
