The Cardinals posted eight point-gathering performances during the annual NESCAC Championships, held at Tufts Sat., April 27. Tops among the efforts was the second-place time of Bryan Marsh '13 (center photo by SteveMcLaughlinPhotography.com) in the 5k as he came through in 14:37.12. His time is currently 20th best among NCAA Division III runners this season. Marsh accounted for one-third of the Cardinals' 24 points during the meet.
Agbon Edomwonyi '16 (left side photo) had a season-best shot put of 47-9 3/4 to place fifth. Will Sawyer '16 (right side photo) was sixth in the pole vault. Wesleyan also got a sixth-place finish from the 4x100m relay of Luca Ameri '15, LaDarius Drew '15, Jack Pacelle '13 and James Dottin '13. Pacelle had an individual sixth-place clocking in the 400m. Three eighth-place times were turned in by Austin Cotant '13 in the 1500m, Skyler Cummins '13 in the 5k and the distance medley relay quartet of Cotant, Tal Levran '15, Evan Bieder '15 and Taylor Titcomb '16.
Wesleyan sent a small contingent of athetes to Colby for the New England Division III meet Thurs.-Sat., May 2-4. There, Wesleyan came away without any team points as the squad's top finishers were Cummins and Cotant in the 1500m, placing ninth and 10th, respectively, just missing the scoring eight in the event.
Wesleyan will be active in the upcoming New England Open meet at Stonehill Thurs.-Sat., May 9-11 next.
