Cardinals Come up Short vs. Defending NCAA Champ Williams in Opening Dual Match

Facing the enviable task of taking on Little Three and defending NCAA Division III champ Williams in their opening match of the fall, the Cardinals came away winless in the match as the Ephs prevailed, 9-0.  Up next for the squad is a retun trip to Williams over the weekend of Fri.-Sun., Sept. 27-29 for the regional ITA tournament.

Claire DuBrin '15 and Grace Smith '14 played #1 and #2 singles, respectively, for Wesleyan and also teamed up for first doubles.  Olivia Koh '17 and Kiley Robbins '14 (left side photo) handed second doubles while playing #3 and #4 singles, respectively.  Their 8-5 loss in doubles was the strongest performance by Wesleyan in the match whie Koh captured five games from her singles rival, also tops among the Cardinals on the day.  Nicki Softness '14 (right side photo) and Cameron Arkin '17 assumed third doubles duties and played #5 and #6 singles, respectively.
