Wesleyan University Field Hockey Joins National Foundation for Cancer Research to “Play4theCure” Sat., Oct. 12
The Wesleyan University field hockey team team joined hands with the National Foundation for Cancer Research to participate in its fundraising campaign entitled Play4theCure, in which sports teams across the country are invited to participate by committing to donate proceeds from at least one game to NFCR.
Wesleyan field hockey raised funds during its game against Little Three rival Williams College Sat., Oct. 12 which was played at noon on Smith Field.
Wesleyan field hockey has been involved in this program for a number of years and head coach Patti Klecha-Porter is hopeful of raising its goal of $500 for such a worthy cause.
The team sold T-shirts like the ones they are wearing in the photos for $15 at the contest. In addition, wrist bands also were sold while general donations on behalf of the National Foundation for Cancer Research were accepted.
