Cardinals Get a Pair of 9-0 Wins in Boston Before Falling to #15 Navy in Home Opener, 7-2

Chris Hart '17 (main photo) swept each of his three opponents over the weekend of Sat., Nov. 23 and Sun., Nov. 24 as Wesleyan came through with 9-0 victories in Boston against Boston College and MIT before opening the home season against #15 Navy, dropping a 7-2 decision.  Joining Hart with a 3-0 weekend was #8 Raheem Logan '16 (photo insert upper left) as he won 3-0 in Boston twice and downed his Navy rival 3-1.  Wesleyan is currently ranked #18 nationally.

Hart's win over Navy featured game scores of 12-10, 11-7 and 11-9 in the hard-fought battle.  Logan won the first two games before dropping the third, then handily ended his match with an 11-5 victory.  Also challenging his Navy foe at #1 was John Steele '14, who fell in an exciting 3-2 outing.

Wesleyan lost just one game during its match vs. Boston College, played at Harvard, then won all nine matches by 3-0 counts at MIT.

The Cardinals will close out the first semester with a pair of matches Sat., Dec. 7 at Brown, facing the host and Northeastern.
