Competing in the annual NESCAC Championship, this year hosted by Conn. College in Harkness Park in Waterford Sat., Nov. 11, Wesleyan had three of its top five runners place in the top half of the 117-runner field. Leading the Cardinals contingent was Taylor Titcomb '16 (photo left side), who took 40th place in a time of 25:55.2 for 8k. Next for Wesleyan was Keith Conway '16 (right side photo) in 50th place with a time of 26:10.3. Reid Hawkins '17 (middle photo) placed 55th, timed in 26:21.8. Rounding out the Wesleyan scoring five was Evan Bieder '15 (69th, 26:44.6) and Eric Arsenault '17 (82nd, 26:56.2). As a team, Wesleyan placed 10th with 258 points, 24 points behind Hamilton. Williams claimed the team title with Middlebury in second place.
The Cardinals closed at the year at the annual New England Division III Championship, this year at Southern Maine Sat., Nov. 16. There Wesleyan had all five scoring runners finish between 52nd and 87th in a field of 366 runners as the Cardinals took 13th of 50 teams. Nine of the top 13 squads in the race were from the NESCAC. Titcomb again led the way, timed in 25:57.74, while taking 52nd. The entire Wesleyan scoring five finished within a 32-second span with Bieder (64th, 26:08.89), Conway (82nd, 26:24.96, Arsenault (86th, 26:28.86 and Hawkins (87th, 26:29.40) rounding out the scoring contingent.
