Kiley Kennedy '16 Sets PV Record, Sierra Livious '14 & Kimora Brock '15 Also Excel for Women's Indoor Track During Yale Invitational

In a meet dominated by Division I and II squads, Wesleyan was one of a scant few Division III teams in attendance at the Yale Invitational Sat., Jan. 11 to open the 2013-14 indoor season.  There the Cardinals came through with several outstanding performances during the non-scored affair.

Leading the way for Wesleyan was Sierra Livious '14 (main photo) as she posted the top finish by a Cardinal, taking fourth of 28 entrants in the shot put with a 40-7 1/2 toss.  She also grabbed eighth place of 26 in the weight throw, coming through with a 46-5 1/4 heave.  In the pole vault, Kiley Kennedy '16 (photo insert lower left) cleared 9-10 to take fifth of 14 and break the Wesleyan indoor record of 9-6 1/4 set in 2001.  On the track, Kimora Brock '15 was the standout Cardinal as her 2:20.39 clocking in the 800m was good enough for fifth place in a field of 44 runners.  Just 4.1 second behind her in 13th place was Sydney Cogswell '16.  Ellie Martin '16 had a strong 400m effort, covering the distance in 1:00.03 to secure 16th place among 52 entrants.

Ahead for the team in the first of three consecutive Wesleyan Invitationals Sat., Jan. 18.
