Women's Track Produces Five Top Honors During Wes Invitational I, Led by Alexandra Bacchus '17
Led by the pair of wins from Alexandra Bacchus '17 (left side photo), as she captured both the high jump with a leap of 4-9 and the triple jump with a 34-9 1/2 effort, Wesleyan came up with five first-place performances during the first of three straight home invitationals, this one on Sat., Jan. 18. The next meet comes up Sat., Jan. 25.
Impressing on the track with a solid run in the 600m, taking first place with a time of 1:41.52, Ellie Martin '16 (right side photo) was just four seconds over the Wesleyan record. The Cardinals other top finishes came from Sydney Cogswell '16 in the 1000m, timed in 3:07.10, and Renee Palmer '17, who edged teammate Geneva Jonathan by .17 seconds in the 60m hurdles, clocked in :09.75. Other top-three finishes for Wesleyan came from Idara Foster '15 in the 60m (2nd, :08.08); Nikita Rajgopal in the 1000m (3rd, 3:14.67); and the 4x400m relay of Cogswell, Foster, Rebecca Winkler '16, and Rajgopal (2nd, 4:17.45).
