Cardinals Dominate Wesleyan Invitational II with 13 Wins in 18 Events, Paced by Sierra Livious '14

With nine teams involved in the non-scored Wesleyan Invitational II Sat., Jan. 25, Wesleyan came away with 13 titles among the 18 events, led by the double-win of Sierra Livious '14 (right side photo) in the shot put and weight throw.  The Cardinals were particular dominant in the 60m hurdles with a sweep by Renee Palmer '17, Geneva Jonathan '15 and Leyna Donaldson '15.  Aidan Bardos '17 (right side of left side photo) and Ellie Martin '16 (left side of left side photo) placed one-two in the 800m race.  The 60m title went to Idara Foster '15 with Alexis Walker '16 just .04 seconds behind.  In the 600m race. Nikita Rajgopal '17 came away with first place, as did Libby Lazare '14 in the mile.  Sydney Cogswell '16 was the mile runner-up.  Caroline Elmendorf '17 claimed a 3000m crown while Molly Schassberger '17 did the same in the 5000m event.  Alexandra Bacchus '17 wrapped up an uncontested title in the triple jump.  Walker was the winner of the long jump.  Also with an individual crown was pole vaulter Kiley Kennedy '16.  The last Wesleyan title was turned in by the quartet of Melissa Luning '15, Palmer, Geneva Jonathan and Orelia Jonathan '15 in the 4x400m relay.

The Cardinals will complete their three-week stint of home invitationals with the Wesleyan Invitational III Sat., Feb. 1.
