Men's Tennis Continues Winning Ways with 6-2 Victory at Conn. College but Luck Runs out at Tufts
Playing the bulk of their match on two indoor courts at Conn. College due to inclement weather Sat., March 29, Wesleyan won four of six singles matches and both of the doubles matches completed on the day to secure a 6-2 NESCAC win, improving the team's overall record to 7-2 this year and 6-1 during the spring. Wesleyan was right back on the courts in another NESCAC matchup, traveling to Tufts Sun., March 30.
Michael King '16 (main photo) and Michael Liu '17 (photo insert lower left) contributed to three of the Cardinals' six team points vs. Conn as each won his singles match, Liu at #2 and King at #5, before teaming up for a tough 9-7 win at #2 doubles. Also winning at singles were #4 Stephen Monik '15 and #6 Zacho Brint '16. Wesleyan's final point came from the #3 doubles pair of Jake Robert '17 and Sam Rudovsky '16, an 8-6 winner.
At Tufts, the Cardinals came away an 8-1 loser with only Roberts and Rudovsky prevailing at #2 doubles, 8-6. Roberts, at #1 singles, and Brint, at #6, split the first two sets but fell in super tie-breakers.
