Holding a slim 4-3 advantage midway through the second period, homestanding Wesleyan methodically pulled away from Conn. College en route to a 16-7 victory Wed., April 23 to lock up the second seed in the NESCAC tournament which starts Sat., April 26. Wesleyan will host Conn. College again as the Camels are seeded seventh in the tournament. Wesleyan is now 25-15 all-time vs. Conn.
Cardinal Graham Macnab '14 (left side photo) posted five goals in the contest while Quentin DellaFera '15 (right side photo) picked up three goals and two assists for a five points game as well. DellaFera netted Wesleyan's fifth goal and assisted on the sixth, then added the final goal of the first half with :13 left to spot Wesleyan a 7-4 edge at intermission. Both of his goals in the span of 6:30 were the results of runs from behind the net while his pass to Matt Prezioso '15, who had a hat trick and an assist, resulted in a quick shot from straight on 12 yards out. Wesleyan outscored Conn, 5-1, in the third period to open up a 12-5 lead heading into the final 15 minutes.
Little-used Jackson Arnold '16 netted his first career hat trick for the Cardinals to support the highest scoring output of the season for Wesleyan, ranked 18th nationally in Division III.
Prezioso leads Wesleyan with 43 points (32-11-43) with DellaFera in second at 33 (28-5-33) and MacNab third at 31 (21-10-31).
Wesleyan starting keeper Justin Schick '15 had nine saves while allowing five goals in 54 minutes of action. Ted Bergman '17 had two saves and two GA in the final six minutes.
