Women's Track Posts Three Top Finishes, Led by Sierra Livious '14, to Place Second in Little Three Meet

The Cardinals captured three top finishes during the annual Little Three meet, this season hosted by Amherst Sat., April 19.  Sierra Livious '14 (main photo) accounted for first-place points in the 100m hurdles (:15.72) while Sydney Cogswell '16 (photo insert lower middle) took the 400m race (:59.82) and Aidan Bardos '17 (photo insert lower right) was first to the tape in the 800m race (2:19.49).  Livious added second-place performances in both the shot put and the hammer with her hammer throw of 162-7 eclipsing her own school mark set a week earlier by almost 10 feet.  Her effort ranks her 20th nationally in Division III this season.

By accumulating 119 team points, Wesleyan outpointed Amherst (100) for the third year in a row in taking second place behind Williams (150).  In addition to Livious' two runner-up finishes, the Cardinals had four other second-place finishes.  Libby Lazare '14 in the 1500m, Geneva Jonathan '15 in the 400m hurdles, Kiley Kennedy '16 in the pole vault, and Ellie Martin '16 in the javelin all supported the Wesleyan effort with runner-up points.

The Cardinals head to Colby Sat., April 26 for the annual NESCAC Championships in hopes of improving upon last year's sixth-place finish.
