EVOLUTION OF A SOFTBALL FIELD

During the summer of 2007, Wesleyan's softball field received a 180-degree modification as the old diamond was covered over with turf and a new diamond was constructed out past the former location of center field.  The adjustment was made mainly to position the field more favorably for the location of the sun.  Previously it was blinding to both center and right field most of the time.  Now the sun will be behind the fielders during games.  Plans are in the works to have dugouts installed at some time in the future.
