FOUR WESLEYAN FIELD HOCKEY PLAYERS HONORED BY NFHCA
(Courtemanche, Aloe, Pfeiffenberger, L. Wasserman All Named to All-Star Squads)
Melissa Courtemanche '03, Marley Aloe '03, Laura Pfeiffenberger '03 and Lindsay Wasserman '03 all were honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) as a member of its New England West Regional all-star squad for the 2002 season.
Courtemanche, who led the team in scoring with 10 goals and five assists for 25 points from her attack spot, was named to the first team while Aloe, a defender who had two assists and two defensive saves ; Pfeiffenberger, an attack who ranked second in scoring with eight goals and four assists for 20 points; and Wasserman, who logged every minute in goal with a 1.22 goals-against average and an 85.7 save percentage, were selected for the second team.
In addition, Pfeiffenberger was the lone Cardinal chosen for the NFHCA North-South senior all-star game, which was played at Springfield College, Saturday, Nov. 23.
Wesleyan finished the year with a record of 10-6 and reached the semi-finals of the NESCAC tournament.
