GLENN ADAMS '06 NAMED SECOND-TEAM ALL-AMERICAN IN LACROSSE
(Receives Nod to USILA Squad for Second Year in Row, Also Selected for Two Senior All-Star Games)

Leading the men's lacrosse team to its second straight appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship, Glenn Adams '06 was named a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III second-team All-American for the second consecutive year.  Adams also received a bid to the NESCAC first-team for the third year in a row and the New England Division III all-star first team.  In addition, the midfielder was chosen to play in both the USILA North-South senior all-star game, played at Villanova May 26, featuring top players from Divisions I and II vs. top players from Division III ; and the NEILA East-West senior all-star game played at Tufts June 4.  Players from all three divisions are mixed together for that game.
Pacing the Cardinals in both points with 69 and assists with 44, Adams averaged nearly 3.5 points a game in 2006 as Wesleyan went 16-4 on the year and played in the national semi-finals against eventual national champion Cortland St., losing 7-6 in overtime.  Adams had a career-high effort in Wesleyan's quarter-final contest at Geneseo St., a 16-10 win, with six goals and four assists for 10 points.  In Wesleyan's opening NCAA contest, Adams netted three goals along with two assists in an 11-8 triumph at RIT.
For his career, Adams ranks fourth all-time in scoring at Wesleyan with 207 points on 90 goals and 117 assists.  He is one of only four Cardinal men to surpass the 200-point plateau.  He was the NESCAC Rookie of the Year in 2003 as well as a second-team all-NESCAC pick before moving up to the first team for each of his last three seasons.  He graced the USILA All-America list as an honorable-mention choice in 2004 before gaining recognition as a second-team choice in 2005.  Wesleyan had three appearances in the NESCAC championship game, two spots in the NCAA tournament and a cumulative record of 54-19 during Adams' four years.  He was the team's top point-getter in 2004 (51), 2005 (49) and 2006 (69) after debuting in a tie for second in 2003 (38).
