MARION STOJ '74
INDUCTED IN CONNECTICUT SOCCER HALL OF FAME
![]() Presently a doctor of ophthalmology in Connecticut, and a Wesleyan parent (father of Amelia '02 who also was a four-year soccer veteran for the Cardinals), Stoj played under head coach Terry Jackson from 1970-73, helping the Cardinals compile a cumulative record of 28-16-3. Named an All-American as a
sophomore in 1971 after leading the team to a 7-4 mark with eight goals and
two assists, Stoj gained All-American recognition a second time as a senior in
1973 as his seven goals paced the squad. That year, Wesleyan captured a
ECAC New England title by defeating Tufts, 2-1, in a semi-final, and upsetting
previously undefeated (11-0) Middlebury in the championship game, 1-0.
Wesleyan finished with a 9-4-1 mark that season.For his career, Stoj netted 15 goals and dished off three assists for 33 scoring points. (photos courtesy of Richard Lawrence) -30-
