2000 Women's Varsity Eight at the NCAA Rowing Championships

The Wesleyan women's varsity eight was one of three squads from a Division III college, and one of 19 overall in the country, invited to participate in the 2000 NCAA Rowing Championships held in Camden County, N.J. from May 26-28. It was the first such invitation for the women and only the second trip to an NCAA event by a Wesleyan team since members of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) have been eligible for national tournaments (starting with the 1993-94 season). Wesleyan's women's varsity eight earned its spot at nationals by taking a silver medal at both the New England Rowing Championships and the Champion International Collegiate Regatta, considered the small college program national champion event.
