Four Cardinals Named to Berkshire Region Second-Team by Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association

The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) released its all-region squads May 18 and four members of the Wesleyan team were chosen for the Berkshire Region second team. Those honored were goalie Maggie Drowica '12 (photo left side), middie Liz Chabot '12 (#4, photo lower middie), attacker Kaylin Berger '13 (#18, photo upper right) and defender Abby D'Angelo '14 (#22, photo lower right). Of the 32 players who graced the first and second teams of the Berkshire region, 24 were from the five regional NESCAC colleges with Trinity and Amherst each placing six on the squads while Wesleyan, Williams and Conn. College each had four individuals on board. Drowica, who also was named to the IWLCA Senior North-South all-star game squad, finished her four years as the Cardinals' starter in net with 536 career saves. She also paced the team in ground balls each of the last three years, including 45 in 2012, when she logged 116 saves and caused eight turnovers. Her 8.92 saves per game led the NESCAC.
