Kaylin Berger '13, Kayla Ellman '13 & Lydia Kring '13 All Net 4 Goals to Power Cards Past Conn in Season Finale - Abby D'Angelo '14 is Regional All-Star
With both teams playing their final game of the season, Wesleyan and Connecticut College locked horns Wed., April 24 and Wesleyan came away with a 16-9 victory. Neither team qualified for the upcoming NESCAC tournament, so both squads finished with identical 5-10 overall records and 1-9 conference marks. Both teams went 4-1 against non-NESCAC competition. Wesleyan jumped out to a 3-0 lead 7:50 into the game as Kayla Ellman '13 (#8, left side photo) netted two of her four goals in the contest to open the scoring. Caitlin Daniels '15 finished off the early Cardinal run. Wesleyan led by two goals or more the rest of the first half and took a 7-4 margin into intermission. When the Camels got the first two goals of the second period, the score stood, 7-6, with 26:16 to go. The Cardinals scored six of the next seven goals to push out to a 13-7 advantage with 13:32 on the clock. Kaylin Berger '13 (#18, right side photo) had three of her four goals in the game during the run while Lydia Kring '13 got the first of her four goals.
