Cardinals Continue to Come up One Goal Short as Team Drops Double-OT Contest at Conn.
Despite the first career goal by Kylie Eyre '08 (#20, photo) to open the scoring in the first half, Wesleyan came up a 2-1 double-overtime loser at Conn. College in a NESCAC matchup Sat., Sept. 29. Eyre converted a feed from Beth Kenworthy '10 into a 1-0 Wesleyan lead in the 32nd minute. Conn. came back to even the count with 12 minutes remaining and after one scoreless 10-minute OT period, the Camels struck for the game-winner just 1:27 into the final extra frame. Wesleyan dropped its sixth one-goal game of the year, two of them now in overtime. Wesleyan will be back home Wed., Oct. 3 to take on R.I.C.
