HIGHLIGHTS - Wesleyan had 12 top-eight individual finishes during the NESCAC
championships and four team records were set. Establishing a team mark in
the 50 backstroke while leading off Wesleyan's record-setting 200 medley relay
was Cara Madden '11 with a time of :28.48. The 200 medley relay, during a
time trial, cranked out a national "B" cut 1:48.48 for a team standard while
also coming up with a 3:58.36 in the 400 medley relay, also good for a national
"B" cut. The relay squad included Madden, Amanda Shapiro '08, Kate Krems
'08 and Janine Zaltsman '11. These four combined for nine of the 12
individual top-eight placings as Shapiro was second in the 100 breast and fourth
in the 50 breast ; Krems grabbed second in the 50 fly in team-record time
(:26.11) and third in the 100 fly ;
Madden was sixth in both the 50 and 100 back and seventh in the 200 back ; Zaltsman picked up a sixth in the 50 free and an eighth in the 100 free. Both
Krems and Shapiro had national "B" cuts in their respective 100-yard swims. Caitlin Bethlahmy '09 was good for two distance free top-eight efforts with a sixth in
the 1000 free and an eighth in the 1650 free. Amelia Lupinetti '11 rounded
out the top performances with her eighth place in the 400 IM. Link to complete

HIGHLIGHTS - Amanda Shapiro picked up All-America honors in the 100-yard
breaststroke for the third year in a row, placing sixth with a time of 1:05.45.
She had placed fifth in 2007 and sixth in 2006. She also competed in the
200-yard breaststroke and placed 18th of 31 entries. Link to complete
