HIGHLIGHTS - The Cardinals established five school records and came up with six top-eight finishes. On Friday, Cara Colker-Eybel got things started by placing fifth in the 200 IM with a record time of 2:08.51, eclipsing her own mark of 2:09.07 set in 2010. Her time also was an NCAA "B" cut. Then Angela Slevin led off the 400 medley relay with a best-ever :58.45 time for the 100 backstroke. She bettered the record set in 2009 by Cara Madden of :59.36. Slevin set the pace as the rest of the relay squad - Rachel Hirsch, Alyssa Savarino and Colker-Eybel - contributed to a 3:56.50 clocking, 1.7 seconds under the pervious school mark set in 2008. On Saturday, Julia Fram became the fastest-ever Cardinal in the 400 IM, swimming a 4:37.37 in the prelims before going on the finish 11th in the event. She nipped Amanda Shapiro's 4:37.56 time from 2005. Three Cardinals had top-eight finishes on Saturday as Colker-Eybel turned the trick in the 200 free (6th) in national "B" cut fashion (1:53.29), Slevin came though in the 100 back (6th) and Roxy Capron made it happen in the 100 breaststroke (6th). On Sunday, the quartet of Savarino, Elizabeth Baumgartner, Slevin and Colker-Eybel combined for a 3:34.55 clocking in the 400 free relay, breaking the previous mark set last year by 0.31 seconds. Two more top-eight efforts came from Roxy Capron and Rachel Hirsch in the 200 breast as Capron grabbed fifth with Hirsch not far behind in eighth. In placing ninth in the 200 back, Slevin posted a national "B" cut (2:06.29).
