Influx of Five First-Years to Give Women's Tennis a New Look for 2014-15

With five returning players, three of them regulars in the singles ladder a year ago and a fourth firmly entrenched as a doubles player, Wesleyan will welcome five newcomers to add significantly to the team's fortunes in 2014-15. Tennis Recruiting Network rated the Cardinals' incoming class of 2018 as third-best among all Division III squads in the nation. Wesleyan posted a 6-8 record in 2013-14, 4-5 in NESCAC play as the team narrowly missed a spot in the NESCAC tournament, ranking seventh behind five NCAA qualifiers and Trinity. Amherst finished as the national runner-up while Williams placed third. Bowdoin made the final eight while both Middlebruy and Tufts also qualified for the NCAAs. Back to lead the Cardinals are team co-captains Anna Howard '15 (main photo) and Maddie James '16 (photo insert lower left).
