At Bates, Sarah Miller '12 (photo) extended her outstanding play with a straight-set victory at #3 singles while joining #1 doubles partner Anika Fischer '10 for an 8-6 win as well. Miller was by far the most successful Cardinal during the regular season, seeing action in every match somewhere among the top three rungs of the singles ladder and posting a 13-4 record. Her doubles mark with three partners was a strong 12-5. The next best mark on the squad was turned in by Meredith Holmes '10, who fashioned a 10-6 singles record with action from #3 to #6. Casey Simchik '10 had a .667 winning percentage with an 8-4 mark, seeing action in the bottom half of the lineup. She also teamed with Ana Alvarado '12 for a portion of the season at #3 doubles with a fine 6-1 record.
In addition to the win at Bates, Wesleyan had NESCAC victories over Conn. College, Colby and Hamilton this spring in putting together an 11-6 regular-season record. It was the team's seventh time with double-digit wins in its 36-year history and fourth consecutive 11-triumph campaign.
