Cards See Win Streak Snapped at 8 as Colby Secures 6-3 Win in First of Nine Straight NESCAC Matches

Beginning a string of nine straight NESCAC matches as the spring sessions gets into high gear, the Cardinals had their win streak halted an eight by Colby Sun., March 28 by a 6-3 count. The team is back on the courts Sat., April 3 with a trip to Hamilton.

Top players Anika Fischer '10 (left side of photo) and Sarah Miller '12 (right side of photo) produced Wesleyan's three team points as each won in straight sets at #1 and #2 singles, respectively. They also teamed up for a hard-fought 9-7 victory at #1 doubles.

The rest of the squad fell in straight-set decisions though #3 Genevieve Aniello '13 pressed her Mule opponent to the limit, falling 4-6, 6-7. Both the #2 and #3 doubles matches went Colby's way by an 8-4 score.
